Carbon Brush Industrially Applied!

Carbon brushes have one of the most important functions, that is, providing operations to industrial equipments. Apart from their application on automobiles and home appliances they are extensively used in large commutator machines. Their application is not only limited to commutator machines but also AC/DC motors, generators, windmills, slipring rotors, hydro power stations and traction motors. Mills like cement, steel and paper also use these brushes where needed.

 There use is not only limited to above mentioned equipments but they are also utilized in power battery driven cars, trolley buses and cable cars. Forklift trucks and cranes also require industrial carbon brushes. The working of these industrial carbon brushes is similar to others but in its own way. It connect generator to the rotor with the help of the commutator that consists of copper segments. These brushes are designed in a way that can survive extreme temperatures as well.
